Honorary Doctorate for Scholarly Distinction
IONA PACIFIC DIRECTOR AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE FOR SCHOLARLY DISTINCTION
Dr. Robert Daum earned his PhD in Near Eastern Studies in 2001 at the University of California, Berkeley. In May of this year Dr. Daum was recognized for “25 years of scholarly distinction” and awarded a second doctorate honoris causa, by the Hebrew Union College –Jewish Institute of Religion. Founded in 1875, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is the oldest institution of higher Jewish education in the United States and the academic, spiritual, and professional leadership development center of Reform Judaism. HUC-JIR educates men and women for service to American and world Jewry as rabbis, cantors, educators, and communal service professionals, and offers graduate and post-graduate programs to scholars of all faiths.
